CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, oct. 30, 2008.- La Universidad Anáhuac entregó la Medalla Anáhuac en Comunicación a Joaquín López-Dóriga, en reconocimiento a sus 40 años de trayectoria periodística en prensa escrita, radio y televisión.
El padre Jesús Quirce, rector de la Universidad Anáhuac México Norte, reconoció la labor de Joaquín López-Dóriga como uno de los periodistas más importantes en la opinión pública de México.
"A través de su palabra, don Joaquín conduce y aporta mucho sin lugar a dudas hacia la consolidación de la democracia y hacia la construcción de un México más justo. Querido don Joaquín, sea usted muy bienvenido a su alma mater y muchas felicidades por este sentido homenaje que hoy su universidad le ofrece", dijo el padre Jesús Quirce, rector de la Universidad Anáhuac México Norte.
En la ceremonia se transmitió un video con sus coberturas más importantes, como la guerra de Vietnam, la muerte de Franco, el derrocamiento de Salvador Allende en Chile, la muerte de los Papas Paulo VI, Juan Pablo I y Juan Pablo II, el terremoto de México en 1985, el atentado contra las torres gemelas, las guerras de EU contra Afganistán e Irak y los embates del huracán "Dean" en 2007.
También sus entrevistas con los personajes que han cambiado la historia del mundo como Juan Pablo II, Fidel Castro, Yaser Arafat e Indira Gandhi.
En la ceremonia se habló de su paso por diferentes medios de comunicación y de su labor incansable como reportero.
Ante un auditorio lleno de estudiantes y docentes de comunicación, Joaquín López-Dóriga compartió algunas anécdotas y habló de una clave a tomar en cuenta.
"Lo que quiero contar con esto es que uno solo no hace nada, que uno lo hace en compañía de aquellos con los que ha crecido, entonces a todos ellos yo les doy las gracias, te la doy a ti, a ustedes, y a todos ustedes porque me han hecho un día inolvidable, lleno de emociones", dijo Joaquín López-Dóriga.
A la ceremonia acudieron como invitados el rector de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), José Narro; el presidente de la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos (CNDH), José Luis Soberanes; el director de la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Alfredo Elías Ayub, así como intelectuales, amigos y los compañeros de Joaquín López-Dóriga en los diferentes medios en que ha trabajado.
